Learn the basics about your device – how to manage the keys and touchscreen, manage the sensor settings, and have an easy access to your media content.

Easy access to your media content with Media key and Media bar

You can easily access the most essential media features in your phone from the Media key in the right top corner of your screen. Pressing Media key opens the Media bar, where you find the shortcuts for:

  • Music library
  • Gallery
  • Share online
  • Video centre
  • Web bookmarks
Lock the keys and touchscreen

Slide the lock switch on the side of the device to lock the keys and touchscreen to prevent any unwanted dialing, or to open the keyguard. When the touchscreen and keys are locked, the touchscreen is switched off and the keys are inactive.

The screen and keys may be locked automatically after a period of inactivity. To change settings for automatic screen and key locking:

  1. Select Menu > Settings.
  2. Select Phone > Phone mgmt. > Auto. keyguard.
  3. Set for Keypad autolock period either None or User defined, where you can adjust the amount of minutes and seconds after which the keyguard is automatically set on.
  4. When you have set the time, select OK.

Your device also has a proximity sensor, which disables the touchscreen automatically when you place the device next to your ear. This helps to prevent accidental selections.

Manage the sensor settings

Your device has an accelerometer, which senses how your phone is positioned. When you activate the sensors in your device, you can silence the alarms and make the phone auto-rotate the content on the screen depending how you want to view it.

  1. Select Menu > Settings.
  2. Select Phone > Sensor settings and from the following:
    • Sensors – Select to activate or turn the sensors off.
    • Turning control – To silence the calls and snooze the alarms by turning the phone display down, mark Silencing calls and Snoozing on. Mark Auto-rotate display to rotate the display content automatically when you turn the device on its left side or back to a vertical position. Marking is done by tapping the selection.
  3. When you are ready, select OK.
